Just seventeen minutes from The Highlands is a destination where guests can explore, question, and deepen their understanding of art. We’re talking about Belger Arts, and it’s dedicated to providing a studio and exhibition space for artists.
In fact, many of the artists work in ceramics and their creations are available for purchase. So, plan a visit to decorate your home with some fine pieces of art. Here are some of the artists you’ll find highlighted at Belger Arts:
Jessica Brandl holds an MFA in Ceramics from Ohio State. Her work has been shown nationally and internationally, and it’s known for exposing historical and eccentric places. Jessica is a Windgate Scholar, and she also won the Zanesville Prize for “Best Vessel” in 2017.
After taking a class at Springfield Pottery, college student Bekah Bliss changed her major. She graduated from Missouri State University with a BFA in Ceramics. Actually, her love of texture is the driving force behind her inspiration. Bekah has moved from wheel throwing to hand building, and all her pieces are functional.
Melody states that she enjoys creating functional forms like bowls and mugs that will have a lasting role in someone’s daily life. She takes inspiration from the world around her and entices viewers to interact with her pieces.
Jason Burnett creates vessels designed to entertain and provide a sense of joy. He has been featured in Ceramics Monthly, and he works from his home studio in Louisville. Jason combines layers of colors and patterns, and American folk art and mid-century motifs influence many of his creations.
